Reno Cricket Extermination
Crickets typically live outdoors and frequently thrive around garbage dumpsters and receptacles. They often are attracted to electric lights at night, and can rest on vertical surfaces such as walls or poles. Crickets will try to seek shelter in indoor environments such as sheds or houses because of the refuge from the elements that they provide, especially during times of extreme heat or cold.
If you find carpeting, furniture, or clothing that appears damaged or feels unusually rough to the touch, then you may have crickets in your home. Crickets are the most likely household pest to damage clothing or other fabric items, and require professional cricket extermination services.

Common Types of Crickets
Crickets are present in large numbers throughout the United States. While there are many species of crickets, camel crickets, field crickets, and house crickets are generally the most common. Here in the Southwest, homeowners may also encounter Mormon crickets, Jerusalem crickets, king crickets, bush crickets, and field crickets, although they are somewhat less common.
What Crickets Look Like
Crickets are insects that are yellow, golden, or brown in color, and typically and 3 dark crossbands around their head. They have elongated bodies that are three-quarters to an inch long, and have six legs and long-forward-facing antennae. Crickets have wings that lie flat across their back that they use to make a distinctive chirping sound.
Threats Posed By Crickets
While crickets pose minimal heath and sanitation risks compared to other household pests, the frequent “chirping” of male crickets seeking female mates contributes to lost home workplace productivity and insomnia. Crickets may damage fabrics such as clothes or furniture made of wool, cotton, polyester, silk, and even synthetic fabric. Crickets feed on the fibers of virtually anything made of fabric, roughening the fabrics and causing them to weaken and “pill”. In heavy cricket infestations, crickets have been known to eat completely through clothing, carpeting, and even furniture.
Cricket Extermination Services
Crickets can enter homes or workplaces through door gaps, improperly screened windows, or they can be accidentally introduced. Exterminating crickets begins with vacuuming, mowing lawns, weeding plant beds, and relocating firewood piles away from housing. We offer inspections to determine the root cause of cricket infestations, and once we find that root cause, we apply pesticide to the affected areas to achieve extermination goals and prevent crickets from causing further damage.
Pesticide Treatment
Cricket extermination and cricket removal goals can be achieved with a variety of pesticides on the market. To achieve extermination and prevention goals, we use Demon WP, Suspend SC, Talstar One, CB Air Devil HPX, CB-80 Extra, NiBan Granular, or Talstar PL. The pesticides that we apply are properly mixed to eco-friendly EPA-recommended standards and are safe from humans and pets. Our cricket extermination will prevent crickets from returning to the affected areas as long as the application remains undisturbed.
